CBI arrests ex-BSF commandant in illegal cattle trade case on Indo-Bangladesh border

Raipur Munaadi:

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested the then Border Security Force (BSF) commandant in an on-going investigation of a illegal cattle trade case lodged against him two months ago.

Satish Kumar, the then commandant of BSF’s 36 Battalion, was arrested from Kolkata. Kumar is presently posted in the Naxal-infested area in Chattisgarh. He will be produced before the CBI Court on Wednesday.

On September this year, a case was registered against the then BSF Commandant, three persons, unknown public servants and others on the allegations of illegal trade of cattle along West Bengal/Bangladesh border by the accused in connivance with public servants. Searches were earlier conducted at the premises of the accused. Further investigation into the case is underway.
