Savitha Rath, a social activist based in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh, will address the 8th Pan African Conference on Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) on November 12.

Savitha Rath (Janchetna) are among them who will address on the topic Gendered Impacts on IFFs in Mining Affected Communities. The webinar will be held from 3.15 pm to 4.15 pm on Thursday (November 12). She is the only speaker who will represent the country on international platform.
Janchetna, a non-government organisation in Raigarh district first started a movement ‘Coal Satyagraha’ on October 2, 2011 from Gare village of Tamnar block, which organises every year on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. The main demands of this movement are the rights of communities on mineral and mining.
Social activist Savitha Rath had played a leading role in Coal Satyagraha. Prior to this, Savitha Rath has participated in several seminars held in Dhaka, Colombo, Manila on the issue of mining and spoke about the communities. Now, she has got opportunity to raise similar issue on international platform.
