Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday ordered general administration department to dismiss 267 government officials and employees from service who have been working on the basis of fake caste certificate will be dismissed from service in Chhattisgarh government, the government press release said.
The Chief Minister has instructed that those government officials holding fake caste certificates and do not get a stay order from the court, to be immediately sacked from the service.
He said that the High Court will be requested for an early hearing through the advocate general of Chhattisgarh in all the cases which have received the stay order in this regard.
The chief minister Baghel has ordered GAD for department-wise review of such cases and those government officials whose caste certificates have been found fake will be immediately sacked from important posts.
As per the GAD, total of 758 cases of fake caste certificates were received by the high level certification scrutiny committee between the year 2000 to 2020, out of which 659 cases have been resolved after investigation and 267 caste certificates have been found fake.
Most of these cases are pending before the High Court or have stay orders. After getting stay order from the High Court in these cases, many officers and employees are still working in important posts.
The committee has found 14 officials and employees of GAD, 8 in Tribal and Scheduled Caste Department, 7 in Revenue Department, 9 in Public Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Department, 8 in Public Health Engineering Department, 4 in Women and Child Development Department, 14 in Water Resources Department, 1 in Social Welfare Department, 15 in Panchayat and Rural Development Department, 1 in Commercial Tax Department, 7 in Home Department, 12 in Village Industries Department, 7 in Energy Department, 4 in Department of Commerce and Industry, 5 in Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department, 3 in Higher Education Department, 14 in Agriculture Department, 5 each in Urban Administration Department and Forest Department, 3 in Cooperative Department, 2 each in Public Works Department and Planning (Economic and Statistics) Department, 6 in Livestock Department and Fisheries Department, 1 in Sports and Youth Welfare Department, 44 in School Education Department and one each in Chief Electoral Officer Office, Public Relations Department, Housing and Environment Department having fake caste certificates.
