Congress candidate among two filed nomination for Marwahi by-poll in Chhattisgarh

Dr Krishan Kumar Dhruw of Congress and Ritu Pandram from Gondwana Ganatantra Party on Wednesday filed their nomination for the Marwahi (ST) Assembly by-election in Chhattisgarh, the Election Commission said.
 
The District Election Office of Gaurella-Pendra-Marwahi said in a press release that till October 14, 14 more people have taken nomination papers to contest the election.
 
Of these, Dr Dhruw and Pandram filed their nomination papers, the release said.

Marwahi will see a by-election on November 3 and the votes will be counted on November 10.
 
The last date for filing nominations is October 16.
 
As of now, the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have named their candidates for Marwahi.
 
While, Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) state president and ex-Marwahi MLA Amit Jogi on Tuesday late night announced to file the nomination paper for Marwahi (ST) by-poll on October 16.
