Four accused arrested with 203 kg cannabis valued at Rs 30L in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, two cars seized

Chhattisgarh Police on Saturday seized 203 kg of cannabis valued at Rs 30 lakh and arrested four persons in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district who were transporting it from Odisha to Korba.

Korba Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said that the arrested men were the Roshan Kumar (29), Himanshu Jaiswal (29), Jaikishan Diwas alias Bablu (23) and Prahlad Chauhan alias Pandu (20).

The action was taken based on a tip that the contraband was being transported to Korba from Odisha via the Korba National Highway NH-49, the SP said.

Police intercepted two cars (CG-12, AJ-3881 and CG-12, R-4488) during checking near a village in the Dipka police station limits, he added.

A case has been lodged under sections of NDPS Act and further probe is underway, SP Meena said.
