Man absconding for long time in wildlife case arrested from Madhya Pradesh

A 54-year-old man, who was absconding for a long time in a case regarding selling and buying of Pangolin skin, was arrested by Chhattisgarh Police from Madhya Pradesh and brought him back to Raipur.
 
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav said that the accused identified as Vijay Jain, resident of Balaghat city in Madhya Pradesh, has been taken into custody.
 
In May 2019, Raipur Police had arrested four persons along with skins of Pangolin from the hotel’s room city-based hotel Vinar and seized two skins of Pangolins from their possession valued at Rs 2.60 lakh, SSP said.
 
The arrested accused included hotel manager Amarjeet Sahu, Subhash Tiwari, Karunamay Bhattacharya and Kishore Dewanagn and a case under sections of Wildlife Protection Act while the probe was still on, he added.
 
During the course of investigation, police came to know about the fifth accused Vijay, who was absconding for a long time.
