Raipur munaadi ।।
In a major setback to the Jogi family, the Mungeli district caste certificate verification committee on Thursday suspended the caste certificate of Richa Jogi, a daughter-in-law of first chief minister and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) founder Ajit Jogi, a day before the last date for filing nominations for Marwahi by-election on October 16.
As per the reporters, Richa Rupali Sadhu was asked for records and replies regarding her caste certificate, the reply submitted by him does not satisfy the committee, hence the caste certificate of Richa Rupali Sadhu has been suspended by the Mungeli district administration.
Reacting sharply on suspension of Richa Jogi’s caste certificate, Richa’s husband and JCC state president Amit Jogi alleged that her certificate has suspended under political pressure and with ill-will as she is the daughter-in-law of the late Ajit Jogi and Dr Renu Jogi as well as mother of his son.
Amit Jogi alleged that the state government wants to stop his family from contesting Marwahi by-elections in any situation.
The Mungeli District Caste Verification Committee has the right to suspend the caste certificate of Richa Jogi in compliance with the amendment made against the rule in Chhattisgarh Scheduled Castes Tribes and Other Backward Classes Act 2013 by the state government. Although, the District Electoral Officer has no other statutory option except to accept her nomination paper until her certificate is completely cancelled, Amit Jogi further said.
Amit Jogi said that he has already filed a petition in the High Court in this regard and also informed the Chief Election Commissioner.
