Three accused arrested for operating IPL betting racket in steel city Bhilai, five mobile phones, six ATM cards, cash, betting records of Rs 8 lakh seized

Chhattisgarh Police on Monday arrested three persons for operating IPL betting racket from the hotel in Chhattisgarh’s at Khursipar locality in steel city Bhilai of Durg district.

Durg Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur said that the arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh Rakesh Agrawal, Pranshu Gupta and Devendra Pratap Kurre, all residents of Chirmiri town of Koriya district in the state.

Police seized five mobile phones, six ATM cards, Rs 5,270 in cash and betting records detailing transactions of Rs 8 lakh from them, Thakur said.

They had bet on the IPL match played between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians on Sunday night from the hotel under the Khursipar police station limits in Bhilai, the senior police officer added.

Police have arrested 25 persons so far for operating IPL betting rackets in Durg district.
